DJ MONSTAR?

DJ Monstar, who hails from Ukraine, exploded onto the scene winning the “Choice Cu*ts is Bustin’ Loose!” 5 way DJ battle in 2010 and soon made a name for themselves as a Moombahton DJ in Brooklyn, NY. Their music fosters a welcoming environment where people of all identities can connect, particularly in LGBTQ+ spaces, and their DJ persona has become synonymous with energetic, uplifting performances. Monstar set the pace at WITCHES of Bushwick, and has made numerous appearances at other queer parties like “Masc House” at The Playhouse Bar, Hot Rabbit, PROWWL, Sweet Fox, JEM Entertainment parties, and Bad Habit. DJ Monstar rose to prominence in the New York City nightlife scene and is known for their infectious, high-energy sets. Their style is a fusion of electronic genres—house, deep house, and tech house, mixed with pop and hip-hop influences. Monstar has gained a reputation for their versatility, curating sets that appeal to a broad range of tastes while creating an inclusive, high-energy environment.

Currently, DJ Monstar has performed sets at many venues, once with a monthly residency at Henrietta Hudson, one of New York’s iconic lesbian bars. Monstar headlined the 2014 “Pier Pressure 15”  rooftop at Yotel Hotel, “Escape Sunday’s Pinup Pride” at Madame X, & NYC Pride at Slate for 2015 & 2016 “Pier Pressure.” Monstar has also performed for various outlets like Showtime/HBO, Tiffany, Sports Illustrated and opened for Ja Rule. Their sets are energetic and eclectic, designed to keep the dance floor moving. They curates their mixes with an emphasis on uplifting, vibrant beats, which cater to both mainstream and underground tastes.
